Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5th November 2026
This is how we collect, use and look after your personal information when you visit ragingbullsnacks.com or order from us. We’ve kept it short and plain. We only collect what we need to sell you biltong and look after you as a customer, and we never sell your information to anyone.
1. Who we are
Raging Bull Meat Snacks Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We’re registered in England and Wales under company number 11939284. Our address is Orchard Farm, Little Warley Hall Lane, Little Warley, West Horndon, CM13 3EN. For anything to do with your personal information, email sales@ragingbullbiltong.co.uk.
2. What we collect
- When you order: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, what you ordered and any notes you add for the courier.
- When you create an account: your login details and order history.
- When you pay: your payment is handled by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card details. We receive confirmation that you’ve paid and a payment reference.
- When you sign up to our emails or texts: your email address and, if you give them, your first name and mobile number. We record when and where you signed up and what you agreed to. We also see whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked.
- When you leave a review: the name you give, your review and your rating.
- When you contact us: whatever you tell us in your email or call.
- When you browse the site: if you accept analytics cookies, information about your device and how you use the site. See section 7.
3. How we use it, and why we’re allowed to
- To take, pack, deliver and support your order — because we need to in order to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep records of orders and payments — because the law requires us to for tax and accounting.
- To send you our emails with offers and news — because you’ve asked for them, or because you’ve bought from us before and didn’t opt out when we gave you the chance. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To send you texts with offers and launches — only if you’ve ticked the box to receive them. Giving us your phone number for delivery doesn’t sign you up to texts. We send up to four texts a month, and every one tells you how to stop them: reply STOP.
- To ask you for a review after you’ve ordered — because it’s in our legitimate interest to hear from customers and show honest reviews. You can ignore the request or tell us not to ask again.
- To answer your questions and sort out problems — because it’s in our legitimate interest, and yours, that we do.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it — only with your consent, through analytics cookies.
- To prevent fraud and misuse of the site — because it’s in our legitimate interest to protect the business and our customers.
4. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Stripe and PayPal, to take payment.
- Our couriers, to deliver your order — your name, address, and phone number or email for delivery updates.
- Mailchimp, to send our emails and texts.
- Trustpilot, to invite you to leave a review and to display it. If you leave a review on Trustpilot, their own privacy policy applies to it.
- Our website and review-request tools, which send review invitations and show reviews on our product pages.
- Google Analytics, if you’ve accepted analytics cookies.
- Our website hosting, IT and accounting providers, who store or process information on our behalf.
- HMRC, regulators, the police or the courts, where the law requires it.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5. Where it’s held
Some of these providers — including Mailchimp, Stripe, PayPal and Google — store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States. When that happens it’s protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge or approved standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: six years after the end of the tax year of the order, because the law requires it.
- Your account: until you ask us to close it.
- Marketing: until you unsubscribe or reply STOP. We keep your email address or number on a suppression list after that, so we don’t contact you again by mistake.
- Reviews: for as long as they’re published. Ask us and we’ll take yours down.
- Emails and enquiries: up to two years.
- Analytics: up to 14 months.
7. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves on your device. We use three kinds:
- Essential cookies make the basket, checkout and your account work. The site can’t function without them, so they’re always on.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us see how the site is used. They’re only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.
- Advertising cookies (Google Ads, Meta Pixel) let us show you our products on Google and Facebook, and let us see which adverts led to a purchase. They’re only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.
You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong;
- ask us to delete your information, where we don’t have to keep it by law;
- ask us to stop or limit how we use it;
- object to us using it for marketing, or on the basis of legitimate interest;
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
- withdraw your consent to cookies or marketing at any time.
To use any of these, email sales@ragingbullbiltong.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month and there’s no charge.
To stop marketing, you don’t need to email us at all: click unsubscribe in any email, or reply STOP to any text.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Children
Our site and products are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
10. Keeping it safe
The site runs over a secure connection (HTTPS), payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal on their own secure systems, and access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to do their job.
11. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if what we do changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant we’ll tell you by email or on the site.
